KDDI will begin offering the Data Only eSIM "Japan SIM" (hereinafter "the Service") online for foreign visitors to Japan from August 28, 2025. Since everything from applying for a data line to downloading the eSIM (embedded SIM) profile can be completed while preparing for your visit, you can smoothly start using povo2.0 communications immediately after arriving in Japan.
Customers can choose from a total of 10 topping Topping, including plans with fixed data volumes and unlimited data plans (Note 1), to suit their individual needs.
To commemorate the launch of online service, we will be running a campaign in which customers who register for povo2.0 through "Japan SIM" will receive a code for "Unlimited data (24 hours)."
For Limited offer, purchases can also be made through a dedicated link in the "Welcome Suica Mobile" app (hereinafter referred to as the "App") provided by East Japan Railway Company for foreign visitors to Japan. (Note 2) By linking with this app, customers can enjoy smooth communications during their travels.
Through this service, we will continue to strive to ensure that every visitor to Japan can enjoy a comfortable and fulfilling stay.

Sales began at approximately 14,600 LAWSON stores nationwide in July 2025. It can be purchased with cash at the store register, and has been well received as Data Only eSIM for foreign visitors to Japan, allowing them to choose a mobile communication plan that suits their individual needs.

This app, provided by East Japan Railway Company, allows you to issue and charge your Suica card before and after entering the country, without having to go to a ticket counter or ticket machine at the station.It can also be used for travel on trains, buses, and other public transportation, as well as for shopping.
