KDDI, Okinawa Cellular, KDDI Digital Life, au Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance will begin offering "povo Smartphone Insurance" (hereinafter, this product) (Note 1), which covers smartphone problems such as cracked screens, water damage, and malfunctions, starting May 21, 2026.
This product can be purchased regardless of your mobile carrier or whether your device is new or used. You can choose from three plans to suit your needs and the device you are currently using: "Simple" (¥190/month), "Standard 5" (¥270/month), and "Standard 10" (¥380/month). In addition to your own smartphone, you can also include smartphones used by your family members, providing coverage for smartphone problems for the whole family.
In addition, to commemorate the launch of this product, we will be running a campaign where the first 20,000 new subscribers will receive a promo code for "Unlimited data (2 hours)" (Note 2) usable with povo2.0. Furthermore, there will be a chance to win a promo code for "3GB (30 days)" in a lottery.
This product is a smartphone insurance product sold by au Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance, using the name of the communication brand "povo" provided by KDDI and Okinawa Cellular, with KDDI Digital Life, which operates povo2.0, acting as the handling agent to provide the insurance product to customers.

au Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance operates as a small-amount short-term insurance provider within the KDDI Group. Small-amount short-term insurance, also commonly known as "mini-insurance," is designed to be optimized for small-scale, short-term needs, providing detailed coverage for everyday risks and allowing for the flexible development of highly unique products.
au Small-Amount Short-Term Insurance aims to meet the diverse needs of customers by collaborating and cooperating with various partners, including the KDDI Group and au Financial Group, to develop and provide original insurance products tailored to the characteristics of each company's services and sales channels.
(Note 1) "povo 's Smartphone Insurance" is the marketing name (pet name) for "Expense Insurance (with a special clause for smartphone repair expenses)" when au Small Amount and Short Term Insurance uses the brand name and KDDI Digital Life is the handling agent for the povo2.0 communications brand offered by KDDI and Okinawa Cellular. The contracting process for the insurance policy requires procedures with the underwriting Small Amount and Short Term Insurance provider, au Small Amount and Short Term Insurance.
