KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Koji Matsuda; hereinafter "KDDI") and East Japan Railway Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoichi Kise; hereinafter "JR East") will expand the number of stations where "povo Data Oasis" is available for users of "Japan SIM," an eSIM service for foreign tourists visiting Japan, starting June 9, 2026. As a result, data top-ups will be available at a total of 83 stations, mainly within the JR East service area.
povo Data Oasis is a service that gives you free data usable with povo2.0 when you access a special website from your smartphone at designated locations. For customers using Japan SIM, we are offering a data allowance of 0.5GB per day and up to 5GB per month (10 times in total) at participating stations.
Japan SIM can also be purchased through a dedicated link within "Welcome Suica Mobile," a smartphone app provided by JR East for foreign visitors to Japan. By ensuring a smooth communication environment both before and after arriving in Japan, it comfortably supports various aspects of your visit, such as using trains, sightseeing, and searching for information.
KDDI and JR East will work together to ensure that every visitor to Japan can enjoy a more comfortable and enriching experience.
