Starting March 25, 2026, KDDI will add new options to its online Data Only eSIM "Japan SIM," which is offered to foreign visitors to Japan, based on customer usage patterns.
We are adding two new plans for extended stays: "Unlimited data (5 days)" (Note) and "Unlimited data (7 days)" (Note).
We will also begin offering data in the form of promo codes that customers can apply at any time they wish. This will allow you to start using the data when you need it during your stay in Japan.
"Japan SIM" allows you to apply for a data line online from overseas and download the profile for the built-in eSIM (embedded SIM) while preparing for your trip to Japan, so you can use povo2.0 communication smoothly from the moment you arrive in Japan.
KDDI will continue to provide "Japan SIM" to ensure that every customer visiting Japan can enjoy a comfortable and enriching stay.
